Many people think we shouldn’t talk about religion and politics. But one of the most essential rights we have as Americans is the right to free exercise of religion. In fact, it was so important to the founding fathers that they included it in the first sentence of the Bill of Rights. This has been a beacon of hope to those in other countries where people are persecuted for their religion. Yet, so many in our country want to take those rights away – claiming separation of church and state.
Today, on the #FearlessPodcast I’m taking a look at the stories of people in the U.S. who have faced persecution and not backed down. My grandfather, Billy Graham, once said, “Let us stand for political freedom, moral freedom, religious freedom, and all the rights of all Americans, and let’s never give in to those who would attempt to take it from us.” We pray that a new generation of believers will rise up to stand for the truth of God’s Word.
