The POWER is in the GOSPEL.
People often assume just because I was born with the last name “Graham,” that I was born with the Scriptures already memorized and the sweet loving story of the Gospel flows eloquently from my mouth at any divine appointment.
But sometimes in sharing the Gospel one-on-one, my words can be a complete disaster. I get nervous, I worry that I won’t say it right or I am too busy worrying that I will ruin this one divine moment the Lord has given me.
Just the other day I had the opportunity to talk about Jesus to a dear friend who was asking me questions. But when I got in the car I shook my head and wondered what in the world did I just say? How could I just butcher that moment?
We have all had those moments, right?
I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then for the Gentile. Romans 1:16
The POWER is in the GOSPEL.
He isn’t joking around when He says power. I believe He means real POWER! A supernatural power we can’t wrap our minds around.
This is a great reminder to me. I believe God just commands us to share the simple Gospel. He doesn’t command us to be perfect in our speech or a beautiful word master. He only asks us to speak it in obedience. And I believe He often intercedes to translate our words in the most eloquent powerful message that could ever fall on our ears in the perfect Divine moment.
So, if you come to a moment that you are not sure what to say, remember, God says the power is in the Gospel. Just say words hidden in your heart (Psalm 119:11), and He will do the rest.
