It’s easy to think progressive Christianity is characterized by a focus on social issues and emphasizing God’s love and mercy. But it’s more dangerous than that. As my guest, Alisa Childers, discovered, leaders of progressive Christianity want to deconstruct the historical Christian faith–and take others with them. On this episode, we discuss the core differences between historic and progressive Christianity—and how to recognize progressive Christianity.
Alisa was a member of the Christian band ZOEgirl. After the band broke up so the members could raise their families, Alisa joined a Bible study to grow deeper in her faith. Instead, she discovered the pastor leading the group was encouraging its members to abandon Biblical truths. The experience led her to dig deep into the truth of historic Christianity and write a book about progressive Christianity titled “Another Gospel?”
