One Check on the My List
While visiting my parent’s in Alaska a couple of weeks ago, I was finally able to accomplish a feat I had been wanting to accomplish for quite some time.

Every time we are at my parent’s cabin in Alaska we gain about fifteen pounds. About ten of those pounds are due to my dad’s pancakes. He makes them about every morning and they are hard to turn down. If you have watched my dad’s cooking video before, then you know his favorite ingredient is butter! So, we have named these buttercakes.
My dad was thrilled to teach my sister-in-law how to make them. So, I thought I would share with all of you. Enjoy dad’s tips!
If you haven’t heard the news regarding Chick-fil-A, then you have been living in a cave, or, like Corey – who I had to educate last night on our late night phone call – you are in NFL training camp. But I am going to make a safe assumption you cannot use the NFL as …
Today, we celebrate a BIG birthday in our family. My dad turns sixty. Most of the time it’s the parents ranting on about how they can’t believe the rapid growth of their children and wondering where the years went. But this time it is the child wondering how her dad got to be sixty years …
Corey was recently invited to fish on Reel Time. Hosted by George Gozdz, Reel Time, is an online fishing show feautured on the Florida Sportsman.
I am often asked in interviews to speak about my mother. My mom hasn’t taken the public spotlight like other women in my family so many don’t know much about her. She wasn’t called to speak to large crowds or write books, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t made an impact on thousands, one-by-one.
There are times I feel like my grandmother’s voice is fading in my memory. She has only been gone for five years, but I am afraid if I don’t hold on tightly I will forget completely.
From January to May, I used to be glued to my television every week as a diehard American Idol fan, but I lost interest after Simon Cowell left the show. Yes, he was my favorite. I have no problem admitting that.
This past week, my brothers and I experienced a first. Our grandfather, Ned Cunningham (my mom’s dad…aka “the other” grandfather), passed away and went to be with Jesus.
Forgiveness. A word that haunts many of us and a work we seek.
When it comes to the NFL, our minds are often polluted by the stories of players who have fallen from grace.
However, once a year hundreds of NFL players and wives come together for a Christian conference. It is a powerful weekend, where I personally get to see different stories than most people. I get to see stories of redemption, healing, forgiveness, love and strength. For Corey and I, it is a precious time. The Lord often challenges us to new levels in our marriage and our faith.
My favorite part of the weekend, are the baptisms, where we witness men and women publicly take a stand for their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. After the baptisms, everyone came together to sing Amazing Grace. To me, there is no sweeter sound.
So, the next time you hear of an NFL player who might have fallen from grace, I ask you to pray for them. And pray for the other players who might have the opportunity speak Truth into their lives. And pray that the players who know Jesus will be bold enough to take a stand on their teams and live a life not of the world.
