The last few months have been grueling, to say the least, for my dad, Franklin Graham.
You may have heard rumblings on various social media sites about the popular Cold Water Challenge. But what is it?
The Cold Water Challenge is a spin-off of the Polar Bear Plunge that many take part in during the winter months to raise money for charity.
Here’s how it works:
I was nominated by our family friends Tim & Christie Haas. While visiting my family in the mountains of North Carolina I took the Cold Water Challenge in plunge style with their son, Wes, in honor of Operation Heal Our Patriots, a project of Samaritan’s Purse.
I am nominating my dad and Alison & Bobby Idol and their entire family. You have 24 hours to take the Cold Water Challenge or donate to your favorite military charity. (Dad has promised to take the plunge in Alaska within 24 hours of returning from Western Europe.) And Wes has nominated my brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Kristy Graham.
There have been some reports of people getting injured while taking the Cold Water Challenge by jumping in cold waters they aren’t familiar with. Please be safe in completing the challenge. Do not jump into water that you do not know the depth. Never dive into water you cannot see through.
