Corey was recently invited to fish on Reel Time. Hosted by George Gozdz, Reel Time, is an online fishing show feautured on the Florida Sportsman.
I am often asked in interviews to speak about my mother. My mom hasn’t taken the public spotlight like other women in my family so many don’t know much about her. She wasn’t called to speak to large crowds or write books, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t made an impact on thousands, one-by-one.
There are times I feel like my grandmother’s voice is fading in my memory. She has only been gone for five years, but I am afraid if I don’t hold on tightly I will forget completely.
From January to May, I used to be glued to my television every week as a diehard American Idol fan, but I lost interest after Simon Cowell left the show. Yes, he was my favorite. I have no problem admitting that.
This past week, my brothers and I experienced a first. Our grandfather, Ned Cunningham (my mom’s dad…aka “the other” grandfather), passed away and went to be with Jesus.
Forgiveness. A word that haunts many of us and a work we seek.
When it comes to the NFL, our minds are often polluted by the stories of players who have fallen from grace.
However, once a year hundreds of NFL players and wives come together for a Christian conference. It is a powerful weekend, where I personally get to see different stories than most people. I get to see stories of redemption, healing, forgiveness, love and strength. For Corey and I, it is a precious time. The Lord often challenges us to new levels in our marriage and our faith.
My favorite part of the weekend, are the baptisms, where we witness men and women publicly take a stand for their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. After the baptisms, everyone came together to sing Amazing Grace. To me, there is no sweeter sound.
So, the next time you hear of an NFL player who might have fallen from grace, I ask you to pray for them. And pray for the other players who might have the opportunity speak Truth into their lives. And pray that the players who know Jesus will be bold enough to take a stand on their teams and live a life not of the world.
This week Ann Curry covered the continuous war that haunts the people in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan. Curry was led into the dangerous Nuba Mountains by Ryan Boyette, a native of Florida. Boyette moved to the Sudan in 2003 when he went to work for Samaritan’s Purse.
Yesterday, I shared with you that this week, Three Hearts, comes out on DVD. Three Hearts, follows my journey as an intern with Children’s Heart Project while I help bring three children to the United States for life-saving heart surgery.
When I was a college senior, I interned with Children’s Heart Project of Samaritan’s Purse. During that time we documented the journey of three children traveling from the deserts of Mongolia to San Antonio, Texas, where they were to receive open-heart surgery.
Early this week a family friend, actually we call him family, appeared on NBC’s The Voice. Anthony Evan’s, son of Dr. Tony Evans, auditioned in front of the show’s four judges, and was chosen by Christian Aguilera to be on her team.
